The pitch.

A small, art-soaked Kūhiō Ave hybrid that operates more like a community center than a tourist bar. Coffee at sunrise, breakfast through lunch, then a 7-hour happy hour rolling into nightly live local music and a rotating DJ. If you want a real Hawaii-local crowd, a mural-wrapped room, and the cheapest published drink math in Waikiki — without the hotel-lobby surcharge — this is the move.

What it actually is.

Opened on Kūhiō in 2024 as a counter-program to Waikiki's hotel-bar machine: a small, art-coated, locally owned hybrid that runs as a coffee shop at 6 AM, a breakfast counter at 9, a happy-hour bar by noon, and a live-music room by night. The Kūhiō Ave flagship is the loudest expression of the concept — murals from Hawaiian street artists wrap the walls, a rotating cast of ~42 local musicians fills the calendar, and DJs are scheduled every day of the week, including weekend morning sets.

🍴 THE FOOD

And if you're eating.

Happy hour: what to get.

Whatever well cocktail is on the noon-to-7 board — Secret Spot's pitch is volume-friendly pricing, so the highest-margin sip is a basic well or draft.

— The happy-hour move

Outside happy hour, it's known for…

7-day-a-week live local music and DJs; one of Waikiki's longest happy hours (7 hours); aggressively local-artist-forward design.

Best time to actually go.

4-6 PM on a weekday — happy hour is still on, live music starts warming up, and you'll catch locals-after-work before the tourist wave.
