Lava Lounge is where you book the 5 PM Mai Tai Mechanics class, learn the 1944 Trader Vic recipe, and then drift out to Tiki's lanai with a fresh drink in your hand and Kuhio Beach across the street. It's the most credible craft program on this side of Kalakaua.

What it actually is.

Lava Lounge is a separate room, separate menu, separate reservation from Tiki's main floor. Where Tiki's is loud, oceanfront, and built for big-group mai tais, Lava Lounge is the opposite: a dim, intimate counter where bartenders perform smoking and flaming pours inches from your face. The program leans hard into Hawaii-made spirits (Pau Maui Vodka, Kō Hana Agricole Rum, Kuleana Rum Shack expressions) with house-made syrups, fresh-pressed juices, and theatrical garnishes. The signature offering is "Mai Tai Mechanics," a 60-minute hands-on class at 5 PM where 6-8 guests learn to build the 1944 Trader Vic formula.
